What is Women's Work?

Women's Work is a UK shop and editorial platform for women-founded brands, founded by Lucy Chadwick in 2026. We feature editorially selected women-founded businesses, write properly about the women behind them, and send shoppers straight to them. A curated marketplace, one basket, one checkout, opens in stages during 2026, with founding brands becoming the first stockists.

Is Women's Work legitimate?

Yes. Women's Work is a UK-registered business. Every brand featured here is verified as women-founded and editorially selected, and no brand can pay to be featured. When you buy through a featured brand link, the purchase happens on that brand's own website under their terms; we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and we say so. Marketplace purchases are protected by UK consumer law, including your 14-day right to cancel. The full detail is in our Terms & Conditions.

How do you verify brands?

Every brand is checked before it appears. The business must be founded by a woman, actively trading, and meet our standards for product quality and presentation. Selection is editorial: we choose brands because the work deserves attention, and there are no paid placements. If a brand ever stops meeting the standard, it comes off the platform. That is the whole point of the place.

What does it cost to sell here?

Joining the marketplace is free for applications received before 1 September 2026, then a one-off £99. There is no monthly subscription to sell. We take 20% commission on marketplace sales, so 80% of every sale stays with the brand, and our advocates are paid from our share, never yours. Apply on the For Brands page.

How do advocates earn?

Advocates build a personal page of products they genuinely rate and share their link. When someone buys through it, the advocate earns 10% of the whole basket, paid from our commission. No fee to join, nothing to buy, no one sitting underneath you. Details and the application are on the For Advocates page.

How do returns work?

Marketplace purchases: you can cancel within 14 days of delivery, no reason needed, with a further 14 days to send goods back, and anything faulty is repaired, replaced or refunded as UK law provides. Purchases on a featured brand's own site follow that brand's returns policy. Full detail in the Terms.
